Whitepaper - GOBMINERS
An idle mining game on the WAX blockchain where you manage goblin miners (1 Goblin per slot with up to 2 tools + 2 items) to explore the planet Tharnox and collect the rare crystal Emberite.
Story and Concept
Tharnox is a mineral-rich planet whose depths hold the most coveted treasure in the universe: Emberite ($EMBER), a rare, purple crystal with energy that pulses with the very force of the world itself. Emberite is the game's token.
On this planet, Goblin Miners are the masters of the underground. Their culture is forged in excavation and discovery. Equipped with their tools and items, they venture into increasingly deeper mines in search of emberite. Glory, among goblins, belongs to those who explore the most dangerous mines and return with the most valuable treasures.
GOBMINERS is an idle mining game where you manage goblin miners (1 per slot) equipped with up to 2 tools + 2 items who work for you continuously.

Core Mechanics
Idle Mining and Cycles
The core of the game is an idle mining simulator. The mechanics work as follows:
- Loadout Allocation: The player assigns 1 Goblin + up to 2 Tools + 2 Items to a mining slot.
- Reward Cycles: Once allocated, mining runs automatically in defined time cycles. Each cycle's duration is influenced by total Speed (Goblin + Tools + Items).
- Reward Accumulation: With each complete cycle, the player accumulates $EMBER and has a chance to find an NFT. These rewards are stored, waiting to be collected.
- Claiming: The player can claim accumulated rewards at any time, without needing to be online for each cycle. Note: There's a 10-minute cooldown between claims per slot to prevent spam and protect the smart contract.
Attributes, Tools, Items and Slot Expansion
✨ Rarity System
How It Works
- • Location base reward = Maximum possible
- • Build average rarity determines reward %
- • Minimum: 1 EMBER (never zero)
- • Affects Goblins, Tools & Items
Average Multipliers
Note: Even Common NFTs can get lucky and earn maximum rewards! Legendary NFTs can also roll low. Rarity affects probability, not guarantees.
🎯 Goblin Attributes
After rarity determines your base reward, attributes further modify your performance. These attributes can be enhanced or modified by equipping Tools and Items.
💪 Strength
What it does: Multiplies your rarity-based $EMBER earnings per successful cycle.
Formula: Rarity Reward × (1 + Strength/10000)
Example: 10,000 Strength = +100% EMBER earnings (2× rarity reward). No maximum cap!
⚡ Speed
What it does: Reduces the time needed to complete mining cycles.
Curve: Linear up to 10,000 points (50% reduction), then exponential up to 100% max.
Example: 20min cycle + 5000 Speed = 15min cycle (25% faster)
🍀 Luck
What it does: Increases your chance of finding NFT drops during mining.
Curve: Linear up to 10,000 points (50% bonus), then exponential up to 100% max.
Example: 1% drop chance + 2000 Luck = 1.2% drop chance (+20% bonus)
❌ Fail
What it does: Base failure rate that can cause cycles to fail (no rewards).
Mechanic: Higher fail values increase chance of failed cycles. Can be reduced by items.
Strategy: Use items with down_fail to counter high goblin fail rates.
🔧 Tools & Items: Enhancement System (2 + 2)
You can equip up to 2 Tools and 2 Items to optimize your goblin. Each tool/item has up to 8 different attributes that can modify your performance in strategic ways.

How Cycles Work
Understanding Mining Cycles
Think of a cycle as the unit of time your setup takes to make a mining "attempt."
Base Duration
Each mining location has a standard cycle time. For example, an easier mine might have a 20-minute cycle, while a deeper, rarer mine might have a 2-hour cycle.
Speed Action
Your total Speed attribute (Goblin + Tools/Items) reduces this time. The higher your speed, the faster cycles complete. Uses an exponential curve for efficiency beyond 10,000 points.
Example: If the mine has a 20-minute base cycle and your setup has enough Speed to reduce time by 25%, each cycle for you will take only 15 minutes.
Efficiency Limit
Speed can reduce cycle time by up to 100% using an exponential curve. In our example, the 20-minute cycle can be reduced to as little as 1 minute with extremely high Speed values (beyond 10,000 points).
Accumulation
The game calculates how many complete cycles occurred since your last collection. If you were offline for 60 minutes and your cycles take 15 minutes, the game will register that 4 cycles were completed. Rewards from all 4 cycles will be waiting for you.
Fail System
Understanding Exploration Failures
The Fail system adds strategic depth to exploration by introducing the possibility of failed cycles that yield no rewards.
Base Fail Rate
Each mining location has a base fail rate (0-100%). This represents the inherent danger and difficulty of that location.
Goblin Fail Attribute
Every goblin has a fail attribute that acts as a MULTIPLIER on the base fail rate of the location. This represents the goblin's inexperience or clumsiness. At 10,000 fail points, a goblin multiplies the base fail rate by +50%, with exponential scaling up to +100% maximum.
Example: A location with 20% base fail × a goblin with 5,000 fail points (25% multiplier) = 20% × 1.25 = 25% total fail chance.
Tool & Item Fail Modifiers
Tools and Items can have fail modifiers that act as multipliers on the fail rate:
- up_fail: Multiplies fail rate upward (represents tools/items that are hard to use or unreliable)
- down_fail: Multiplies fail rate downward (represents safety equipment or skill-enhancing tools/items)
Like goblin fail, tool/item fail modifiers use the exponential curve system with 10,000 points = 50% multiplier effect, up to 100% maximum.
Example: 20% base fail + goblin with 2,000 fail (+10% multiplier) + tool/item with 3,000 down_fail (-15% multiplier) = 20% × 1.10 × 0.85 = 18.7% final fail chance.
Strategic Considerations
The fail system creates meaningful choices: powerful goblins, tools, or items might have high fail rates, requiring you to balance raw power against reliability. Safety-focused builds with low fail rates provide consistent but modest returns.
How Drops Work
Understanding NFT Drops
Drops are your chance to win an NFT at the end of each individual cycle.
Guaranteed Reward vs. Chance
With each complete cycle, you're guaranteed to receive $EMBER. NFT drops, however, are based on luck.
Location's Base Chance
Each mining location has specific NFT drops, with each NFT having a percentage chance of being won. Drop chances are configured as base chances out of 10,000 (so 100 = 1.00%).
Luck System
Your build's total Luck attribute increases the base drop chances. Each point of Luck gives you a +0.005% bonus up to 10,000 points (50% bonus), then uses an exponential curve with a maximum cap of +100% bonus.
Example: With 2,000 luck points, you get a +10% bonus on all drop chances. A 1% base drop becomes 1.1%. With 20,000+ luck points, you could reach close to the 100% maximum bonus.
Maximum Drop Chance
No matter how high your luck, the final drop chance is capped at 100% to maintain game balance and prevent guaranteed drops.
Single Roll Per Cycle
The system performs ONE dice roll per cycle to determine if you get an NFT or nothing. Drop chances are cumulative, meaning if a location has drops with 25% and 30% chances, you have a 55% total chance to get something and 45% chance to get nothing.
Example: Roll 0-24999 = First NFT, Roll 25000-54999 = Second NFT, Roll 55000-99999 = No reward. Only one NFT maximum per cycle.
Drop Limit
There's a safety limit of 3 NFTs per claim to maintain game balance and prevent excessive rewards.
Cycles = More Drop Chances
The more cycles you accumulate, the more chances you get to win NFT drops! Each cycle gives you one roll opportunity. If you wait to accumulate 10 cycles before claiming, you get 10 separate chances to win NFTs.
Strategy: Wait longer between claims to accumulate up to 10 cycles and maximize your NFT drop opportunities.
Cycles and Slot Expansion
🔄 Cycles System
Each slot has a cycles system that controls how many rewards your builds can collect. Every slot has 10 fixed cycles that are always available.
🟢 Fixed Cycles
Each slot has 10 fixed cycles that are always available.
- • Always available for claiming rewards
- • Never decrease when you claim
- • Standard capacity for every slot
- • Cannot be bought, sold, or modified
⚖️ How It Works
When claiming rewards, the system calculates how many cycles occurred:
- Checks elapsed time since last claim
- Divides by cycle duration to get completed cycles
- Processes up to 10 cycles maximum per claim
- Gives rewards based on successful cycles
📊 Example Scenario
You wait 3 hours with a 20-minute cycle duration:
- • 180 minutes ÷ 20 minutes = 9 cycles completed
- • You get rewards for 9 cycles when you claim
- • If you wait 4+ hours, you get 10 cycles (maximum)
- • Fixed cycles never run out or get consumed!
💎 Cycles = Drop Opportunities
Key Strategy: Each cycle gives you one chance to win NFT drops! You can accumulate up to 10 cycles worth of rewards between claims.
Example: If you wait long enough to accumulate 10 cycles before claiming, you get 10 separate chances to win NFTs (up to 3 total per claim).
💡 Strategic Implications
- • Simple system: No need to manage consumable resources
- • Claim timing: Wait longer to accumulate more cycles (up to 10)
- • Consistent rewards: Every player has the same 10-cycle capacity
- • Always available: You always have 10 cycles available, ensuring continuous mining

Summary
GOBMINERS is a WAX blockchain-based idle game where players manage builds of goblin miners to dig deep into the planet of Tharnox, gathering $EMBER tokens and NFTs. Players assign builds (Goblins + Tools/Items) to mining slots, where they automatically generate rewards over time through reward cycles.
Player success is driven by four core attributes that determine mining efficiency and rewards:
💪 Strength
Multiplies EMBER earnings per cycle. Formula: Base × (1 + Strength/10000). 10,000 STR = +100%. No maximum cap!
⚡ Speed
Reduces cycle time. Linear up to 10k points (50% reduction), then exponential up to 100% max.
🍀 Luck
Increases NFT drop chances. Linear up to 10k points (50% bonus), then exponential up to 100% max.
❌ Fail
Base failure rate causing cycles to fail. Can be reduced with items having down_fail attributes.
🔧 Tools & Items Enhancement System
Each tool/item has up to 8 attributes that modify your build's performance:
The strategic depth comes from balancing these attributes. A powerful tool might give +1000 up_strength but -500 down_speed, requiring players to carefully choose their loadouts. Players start with 3 exploration slots and can expand up to 10. An upcoming blend feature will make dropped NFTs essential for crafting more powerful equipment.
